Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Lingora (the "Service"), available at lingora.xyz. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be 13 or older to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Accounts

• You are responsible for your account credentials.
• Do not share accounts. One person, one account.
• Notify us at support@lingora.xyz if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate the Service beyond normal use.
• Attempt to gain access to accounts or data that are not yours.
• Use the AI tutor to generate illegal, harmful, or deceptive content.
• Resell or sublicense the Service without written permission.
• Submit content you do not have the right to share.

4. Subscription and billing

• Paid plans (Pro, Max) auto-renew monthly or yearly unless cancelled.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then.
• Refunds are handled case-by-case; contact billing@lingora.xyz.
• Prices may change; we will give at least 14 days notice before the next renewal.
• Payment is processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms.

5. AI-generated content

The Service uses large language models to generate exercises, corrections, and explanations. This content may contain errors or inaccuracies. Do not rely on Lingora for critical translation, legal, medical, or professional decisions.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, code, and curricula are owned by Lingora and protected by copyright and trademark law. You retain ownership of content you create (your own writing, recordings). You grant Lingora a limited license to store and process that content to deliver the Service.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted Service. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Subscription refunds are provided when we discontinue paid-only features you were actively using.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with written notice where practicable. Learning data associated with a deleted account is removed within 30 days (audit logs retained for up to 1 year for legal compliance).

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lingora's total liability arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €100.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Berlin, unless applicable consumer protection law grants you another venue.
